Holland at Hometown Huddle 2011

This fall, a group of Holland students had an opportunity to participate in Hometown Huddle 2011. Students spent the day at the Houston Zoo with members of the Houston Texans football team. They learned about healthy living and enjoyed a two-hour scavenger hunt. Students learned simple excercise tips, the basics of CPR, and simple recipes for healthy snacks. They ended the day by having lunch with the players.

Apply for the Holland Vanguard Magnet Program

Students interested in applying for the Holland Vanguard Magnet Program should complete an application and submit it to the main office. Applications must be filled out completely with all supporting documents. Individuals who wish to tour the campus are welcome to visit between the hours of 8:30 – 10:30 AM. We are “Jean”ious

Holland students are encouraged to come to school daily. We monitor the daily attendance rate for each academy and any academy who meets their daily goal earns a dot. When an academy earns five dots, they are rewarded with a “jean day”. If an academy earns a “jean day”, they receive a notice that informs their parents/guardians that they are permitted to wear jeans and their uniform shirt. Unfortunately there are some instances when an absence is inevitable. In those cases, students should bring a note stating why they were absent and present it to Ms. Curtley in the attendance office.
