The Holland Cougar Bots participated in the FIRST Lego League South Texas Championships held in Pearland HS on February 27. In the morning session, the Cougar Bots finished 6th out of 20 in their division, qualifying them for the division eliminations. The Cougar Bots were matched with #3 Ro-Beaumonts in the first round, where the Cougar Bots dominated at 210-105.
This put the team to the division semi-finals where they faced the
Mindstorm Maniacs in a close 220-200 win. Veteran teams and coaches
alike were impressed with the Cougar Bots' simple but efficient robot
design and programming, which landed them in the top 8 out of 80 teams
in their second year in the tournament. The Holland students, parents,
and staff would like to congratulate the team (Ernest, Gerardo,
Rosendo, and Errol) and their teacher, Ms. Fernando!
